Falling Skies Episode 7 Ratings

The numbers continue to shine for Falling Skies as Sunday's episode brought in 4.3 million viewers. This is up from the 4 million from last week. Also, the key 18-49 demo saw a bump to 1.5 from the pretty constant 1.4 which is also great news.

With these numbers being the highest they've been since the premiere, it will be interesting to see how well the 2 hour season finale does this weekend.

Falling Skies Episode 6 Ratings

Falling Skies ratings held steady last weekend with episode 6 'Sanctuary Part 2' pulling in a little over 4 million viewers. Yes, it's down a little from the 4.2 million viewers last week, but it's clear that the 4 million mark seems to be where the ratings are settling in.

Falling Skies Episode 5 Ratings

Looks like Falling Skies ratings are finally on the upswing as last Sunday's episode brought in 4.2 million viewers - up from 3.9 the previous week. It's not a huge gain, but it does show that the audience has settled in at around that 4 million mark. This is a good sign since the network picked up the show for a second season when the numbers were about where they are now so they should be pleased with this week's ratings.

Falling Skies Episode 4 Ratings

The ratings for Falling Skies Episode 4 'Silent Kill' are in and they look good. While the ratings were still quite solid, they did continue to drop a bit with 3.9 million viewers as opposed to last week's 4.07 million.

Yes, it'd be great to see the numbers start heading up instead of down, but having nearly 4 million viewers is quite a strong pull for a cable series. TNT decided to pick up a second season based on numbers around 4 million, so my guess is that as long as they don't drop too much more the network will continue to back the series and be pleased with its results.

Falling Skies Episode 3 Ratings

The ratings for last Sunday are out and things look pretty good for Falling Skies as the numbers dropped only ever-so-slightly. Total viewers dropped down to 4.07 million from last week's 4.2 million while the key demo of adults 18-49 dropped to a rating of 1.4 from last week's 1.5.

So what does that all mean? Well, considering it was a holiday weekend and that the numbers were record breaking during the premiere, the fact that ratings seem to be settling in at a strong 4 + million is a good sign. Obviously things can still shift up or down, but I think it's safe to say the show is delivering for TNT right now.

Falling Skies UK Debut Brings Big Numbers

While we wait for last Sunday's U.S. ratings, FX UK has released the numbers for Falling Skies' UK debut. The UK premiere brought in an audience that was apparently sevent times bigger than FX's usual viewership for that time slot.

It definitely looks like Falling Skies is being marketed well as it keeps premiering to strong numbers. We'll see if it can maintain a strong audience as the hype dies down and the ratings settle.

Episode 2 Pulls 4.2 Million Viewers

The second episode of Falling Skies pulled in 4.2 million viewers Sunday, which was down from the 5.9 million viewers it has for its two-hour premiere. While this is a fairly significant drop, it was to be expected from a new show that had built up so much hype.

It will likely take a few more episodes for the numbers to level out for the show. TNT has said they are still happy with the numbers and expect the show to gain traction after the initial ratings settling period is over.

Falling Skies Premiere is Cable's #1 Series Launch This Year

It looks as though the Falling Skies premiere was a huge success as it drew in more than 5.9 million viewers to make it the #1 new series launch for the 2011. The two key demographics of 18-49 and 25-54 year olds did quite well with 2.6 million and 3.2 million adults respectively.

Also of note is that the Falling Skies debut had the biggest viewership for any cable scripted series since last year's Rizzoli & Isles (which had 7.6 million). This means Falling Skies beat out the much hyped The Walking Dead (5.3 million).

This is definitely good news and while we don't know how much of that audience the show will keep (or grow upon) during the next few episodes, it does make it seem like TNT will likely pick up second season soon.
