Get Harnessed at San Diego Comic-Con

TNT and Dark Horse Comics have recreated the harness factory we saw a couple episodes ago and are bringing it to the San Diego Comic-Con this week.  If you happen to be going, be sure to stop by the Dark Horse booth and get your picture taken with the contraption.

Not able to make the convention?  Head here to see a short clip from the episode "Young Bloods" that demonstrates what will be in store for fans attending Comic-Con.

Falling Skies Season Finale Ratings

Looks like the Falling Skies Finale was a big hit as it drew in 5.6 million viewers - the biggest audience since the premiere. This is a pretty significant jump from the 4 million viewers all the other episodes were hovering around. I'm sure being a season finale as well as two hours long while also having a Falling Skies marathon leading up to it all boosted the numbers.

It will be very interesting to see if next year's season premiere opens with bigger numbers than this year's premiere. Either way, I'm sure the cast and crew are excited this season ended on a high note with the ratings.

Falling Skies Episode 7 Ratings

The numbers continue to shine for Falling Skies as Sunday's episode brought in 4.3 million viewers. This is up from the 4 million from last week. Also, the key 18-49 demo saw a bump to 1.5 from the pretty constant 1.4 which is also great news.

With these numbers being the highest they've been since the premiere, it will be interesting to see how well the 2 hour season finale does this weekend.

Falling Skies Episode 6 Ratings

Falling Skies ratings held steady last weekend with episode 6 'Sanctuary Part 2' pulling in a little over 4 million viewers. Yes, it's down a little from the 4.2 million viewers last week, but it's clear that the 4 million mark seems to be where the ratings are settling in.

Falling Skies at Comic-Con

Falling Skies had it's Comic-Con panel yesterday and the Hollywood Reporter has compiled a list of info that was discussed by the cast and crew. Be warned though, there's quite a few spoilers mentioned so those wanting to go into each episode "fresh" should probably stay away. If you don't mind the spoilers, you can also check out the Examiner's reporting of the panel, which reveals some specifics about tomorrow night's episode.

Some non spoiler info include the fact that Steven Spielberg picked out different versions of skitter makeup and that season 2 is already planned out. Nothing really all that interesting, so if you're afraid of the spoilers, you really aren't missing much by avoiding the Comic-Con reports.

Noah Wyle Nominated for Teen Choice Award

While Falling Skies may only be a few episodes into its first season, Noah Wyle has been nominated for a Teen Choice award. The category he's nominated for is "Choice Summer TV Star: Male" which includes Keegan Allen, Lucal Grabeel, Ian Harding, and Tyler Posey.

Because the award is based on the votes of teenagers, my guess is that Noah Wyle doesn't stand a chance. This is also likely why Falling Skies isn't up for "Choice Summer TV Show" when shows like "Keeping Up with the Kardashians", "Switched at Birth", and "Pretty Little Liars" are.

Either way, it's great to see Noah Wyle get some recognition, even if it is for the Teen Choice awards. Let's hope he can pull off an upset!

Falling Skies Episode 5 Ratings

Looks like Falling Skies ratings are finally on the upswing as last Sunday's episode brought in 4.2 million viewers - up from 3.9 the previous week. It's not a huge gain, but it does show that the audience has settled in at around that 4 million mark. This is a good sign since the network picked up the show for a second season when the numbers were about where they are now so they should be pleased with this week's ratings.

Falling Skies at Comic-Con 2011

TNT has announced that Falling Skies will once again be at Comic-Con. On Friday, July 22 the cast and crew (including Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, and Mark Verheiden) will be part of a Q&A panel session. The panel will also include clips from upcoming episodes. After the panel, the Falling Skies cast members and writer Mark Verheiden will be available for autographs.

Apparently there will also be five collectible pins to grab at various locations throughout Comic-Con. Whether or not those locations will be easily known or if you'll have to do some exploring is unknown.

Falling Skies Season 2 is a Go

Those of you doubting whether or not Falling Skies will go the way of V and The Event can fear no more as TNT announced they have already picked up Falling Skies for a second season.

TNT has ordered 10 episodes for the second season (same as this first season) and has slotted the summer of 2012 for the second chapter in the alien invasion saga. They site strong ratings and production values as being key reasons why they've committed to a second season so soon. It looks like it took just three nights of ratings (as well as some international premieres) to convince them that the series is a hit.

I, for one, am excited to know that a second season is already confirmed so that I won't have to worry about yet another good show being pulled after the first season. Of course, let's hope the numbers stay strong throughout this season and next so that there are many more seasons to come.

Falling Skies Episode 3 Ratings

The ratings for last Sunday are out and things look pretty good for Falling Skies as the numbers dropped only ever-so-slightly. Total viewers dropped down to 4.07 million from last week's 4.2 million while the key demo of adults 18-49 dropped to a rating of 1.4 from last week's 1.5.

So what does that all mean? Well, considering it was a holiday weekend and that the numbers were record breaking during the premiere, the fact that ratings seem to be settling in at a strong 4 + million is a good sign. Obviously things can still shift up or down, but I think it's safe to say the show is delivering for TNT right now.
